After a few crazy weeks being fully focused in wedding photography, I was pleased this weekend to take a short break from it and ‘get back to my roots’ with three days of photographing the Estonian national cycling Championships.
This year the race was held in and around Otepää. Spread over three days, the event promised to be a lot of fun.
The first day was the individual timetrial. Held over an ‘out and back’ course starting and finishing in Tehvandi wintersports stadium. It was a very hot day and I must admit I came away from it with a bit of a red neck.
The second day was a closed circuit race for Junior (16-18 year old) and Senior 5-8 categories. This track was mega hard and was raced over purpose built rollerskating tracks normally used by cross country skiiers training in the summer. Almost no flat the whole race
The third day was for elite men and women to show their stuff on a long and slightly hilly track around the countryside, although it was a very wet and windy day the racing was certainly very warm!
The first 2 days I was on foot, walking around the track and finding nice spots. On the third day I was on a motorcycle so got to stay close to the action all the way.
All my images from the three days can be seen in these three galleries and below are a few of my favourites from the weekend.

Next up I am back to wedding mode (it is wedding season after all) and I hope to have some exciting news about that to announce soon.
